Oversized Condenser

Probable Cause:

Oversized condenser on a system without a receiver or equipped with a surge receiver. This can produce excessive subcooling of the liquid refrigerant entering the valve-leading to a higher refrigerating effect, the TEV would now be oversized, (assuming the subcooling effect wasn’t considered in the initial valve sizing,) causing low superheat or flooding.

Remedy:

Correctly balance the system components.
